Anita Mitchell

I qualified as a Quest Graduate at the beginning of 2007 with Q19. Since then I have worked full-time as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist, whilst combining this with family life. I completed the MasterPract and Confident Childbirth Courses in 2007. I have attended all of the courses offered by Quest, and have assisted on the Diploma and MasterPract course several times. I can often be found at the back of the classroom of the Diploma weekend these days, whilst giving training support to Trevor, when I’m not interviewing prospective students for the diploma course.

In the past, I have worked as a secretary after training with Pitman’s, as the ‘Bounty Lady’ in maternity at Hillingdon Hospital (giving out free sample packs to the new mums) and in later years, as a London Taxi Driver (black cab) – all BQ (Before Quest). While each of these roles were interesting in their own right, I can honestly say that what I do now is the most interesting and rewarding work that I could ever hope to do. Combining my therapy practice with supervision seemed a natural progression for me, as I really enjoy helping others to be the best they can. Just like therapy, it’s great to be able to be a part of people’s journeys, as they develop into the therapists they want to be.

I’d like to think that I can have a laid back approach to supervision, whilst giving you the very best I can. That way, we get a working relationship going that can be open and honest. I’m not here to police you or your practice, or to tell you how to do things. What I am here for is to help you at the times you need help the most, whilst giving you regular support to ensure that both you and your clients are getting what they need. That way, your practice is likely to grow in the way you want it to, as satisfied clients mean great referrals.

I’d really like the opportunity to have an informal chat with you about how we can work together to get what you need from supervision.

Becky Leonard

I qualified as a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist in April 2005 (I think we had our names etched in tablets of stone rather than on paper certificates in those days!). I took the Master Practitioner in the November of the same year and enjoyed a busy practice in London before moving to Hertfordshire, where I am now based. I was also lucky enough to undertake Jane’s Confident Childbirth training in 2006, and have really enjoyed adding that work to my remit.

I qualified as a supervisor in 2008 and mostly do phone/skype supervision with my supervisees, who are based all over the UK. I also hold group sessions every other month, on Saturday mornings at my practice in Hitchin, which are a truly fantastic opportunity for Questies to learn from one another. I have really relished the recent supervision training with Trevor, and hope that it can allow me to develop and improve my skills further and I look forward to there being more Quest –trained supervisors for people to choose from.

I used to work in theatre, as an actor and director, and still occasionally dip my toe in the realm of corporate theatre when I can fit it around my client work and family. Since having my two children I currently work two full days and three evenings a week, seeing clients and supervising. More recently I have started to work for the NCH as a tutor/assessor for those NCH members taking their HPD.

I am passionate about Cognitive Hypnotherapy as well as being interested in many other areas of body/mind and get excited by all things that are about feeling good! My signature strengths are curiosity, vitality, perspective and love of learning, which just about covers my approach to therapy, supervision and life in general.

As an active member of the Quest community, training as a supervisor was a step I was excited to take. I believe that supervision which leaves you feeling energised and ready to continue your development is an essential part of being an excellent therapist – and that’s what I aim to provide. With your outcomes in mind, we will work together to ensure you are providing your clients with the best possible interventions, in turn leading them to their required solution. My regular postings on the forum will give you a flavour of how I work with others, and the varied mix of clients I have worked with, which in turn leads to the experience I bring with me as a supervisor, and very active therapist.

Our relationship will be one that helps you to feel supported and ready for any challenge. I am happy to work 1:1, in groups, via Skype, telephone or in person – whatever supervision is the best that supports you, I am keen to provide. I live in Alton in Hampshire, but would be prepared to travel if we can get together groups that would benefit from that. Would you like to know more? Then contact me 01420 543365 or carole@carolesamuda.co.uk. I look forward to working with you.

Emerging from a background in Investment Banking and IT, I trained with Quest in the class of Q20, qualifying in July 2007 and subsequently going on to complete the MasterPrac in January 2008.

As many of you may know, I have continued to be involved in Quest and Quest events ever since, (can’t keep away!) including organising some of the peer support evenings in London and also having the pleasure of assisting on the Diploma Course.
I obtained my EFT Certification in 2008 (Practitioner of Meridian and Energy Therapies) and completed the Confident Childbirth course in 2010.

I have been in practice since qualifying, initially part time, and now I have a full time practice in North West London which I have been running since June 2009.

Over the years I have gained so much from the process of supervision, that it is a real privilege to be able to support other therapists in this way.

Dani Dennington

If you have read my postings on the forum I hope you already have a good idea about the kind of person I am, for any that don’t read the forum, here is a little about me and my background.

I was a graphic designer for the BBC in my former existence and trained with Quest in 2006 on Q18, many of the skills I had as a designer have been useful to me as a cognitive hypnotherapist, such as creativity, flexibility and the ability to think out of the box. I have enjoyed assisting on various courses and working as a supervisor fits my desire to help therapists be the best they can be.

Since my earliest days with Quest I have been fortunate to have had excellent supervision and know just how valuable this reflective and non-judgemental support can be; I believe it has helped to develop my skills as a cognitive hypnotherapist as a result, and it is this type of supervision that I will be looking to maintain with those who come to me.

I don’t have a particular specialism, but many of my clients come to me for anxiety related problems and I enjoy working with couples for confident childbirth. The great thing about cognitive hypnotherapy is that we have the tools to work with whatever the client brings, so that it is always a challenge and there is always more to learn.

Whether you choose me because we share a similar outlook on life or because you feel that our differences will help you to approach your work from another perspective. I aim to help you support your client’s, and your own development by helping you to find solutions as you gain in experience, and to make the process as enjoyable as possible.

GILL WOOD

Qualifying as a Questie in 2009 is the best thing I ever did. For 4 years, Before Quest, I was already practising as an NLP Life coach and Master Practitioner, but then I decided to extend my knowledge and skills to include Hypnotherapy and gain a “proper” science based qualification . I completed my Quest Master Prac. course in 2010, and became a Supervisor at the end of 2011.

I began my career by selling advertising space for Titbits Magazine (not my proudest moment) , then worked in an Advertising Agency for 10 years – which was fun, but nearly killed me. After my 3 kids were born I switched to antenatal teaching for NCT, part trained as a Homeopath, built up a successful practice as a Reflexologist, and also trained as a Tradis Healer. Later I became a Natal Hypnotherapist.

I still have lively interest in health, but I would much rather work with the Head than the Feet. I really do believe that “If you can dream it , you can do it”. Successfully building my practice in Wimbledon allowed me to prove to myself that with focus , determination, motivation, realism and a splash of humour, you really can make your dreams come true.

I see 10-15 clients a week for Cognitive Hypnotherapy at my home in Wimbledon and I run regular Slimquest courses. My specialisms are Weight Loss and Fertility and Birth. I am a specialist advisor on Phobias for the NCH. I have assisted on a recent diploma course.

I am passionate about my work. about learning, and about Quest and its values. We really do make a difference.

Regular Supervision has played an enormous part in my rapid growth and development as a therapist– giving me support, confidence, new ideas, help with marketing, encouragement and new perspectives as well as providing a safe place to offload. Whatever I bring to supervision, I always come away feeling better, inspired, motivated to take action and above all, good about myself.

My personal values centre on respect, tolerance, honesty and on being non judgemental. As a supervisor , as in all my work ,what I really want to do is to enable, enlighten and empower, so that your confidence, self belief – and your business – can grow and you can develop and reach your full potential as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist..

I supervise face to face, by phone or by skype If you think I might be the right Supervisor for you , I would love to hear from you. Why not call me for a chat about what you want from supervision , and let’s find the best way to work together.

I retrained as a hypnotherapist in 2003 having been a PA at senior executive level within the IT industry for 30 years previously. Rebecca Neil

Hello, I’m Rebecca Neil and I work as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor from my practice in Peakirk, a little village just north of Peterborough, on the North Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border.

I qualified in Cognitive Hypnotherapy in October 2003 (Q6) and gained my NLP Master Practitioner’s certificate through The Quest Institute in January 2005. I completed the Hypnobirthing Practitioner training course in 2004, & EFT Practitioner (LeveI1&2) 2004. I gained my Certificate in Hypnotherapy Supervision in March 2011. I regularly attend training and workshops to increase my skills base and knowledge in therapeutic practice. As part of my on-going professional development, I am also in contracted supervision.

Prior to becoming a cognitive hypnotherapist I worked for over 10 years as a mental health nurse. I have found my background in nursing to be a wonderful professional resource of skills and experience that has enhanced the excellent training from Quest, aiding my success in practice.

Supervision can assist you to rise to the challenge of all aspects of being a successful cognitive hypnotherapist, helping you build upon your already existing strengths, (you’ve already got so many more than you think!). Together we work in a flexible, safe confidential space to explore, reflect and evaluate your work, allowing you to gain the support and guidance you need to encourage your professional development and meet the needs of your clients.

My personal and professional philosophy is one of being congruent, authentic, open & committed to learning and to work with confidence, compassion and professionalism.

Now as a fully qualified hypnotherapy supervisor, I hope to share my professional experience & learning to support you to find your expertise and grow with confidence to be the best therapist you can be.

I offer individual sessions by appointment, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, face-to-face in person, through Skype or over the phone. Individual face-to-face sessions are by appointment at my practice in Peakirk, Nr Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. ).

For phone, the supervisee calls me on my landline number 01733 253772 at the pre-arranged time. For Skype calls, the supervisee contacts me through Skype address: rebeccaneil1 at a pre-arranged time.

Group supervision can take place at my practice and also every other month before the London Quest meeting (according to demand).

Russell Davies

I established my practice very soon after qualifying from the diploma in July 2008. I then went on to complete the Master Prac in January 2009 and since then have enjoyed my continued professional development within and outside of Quest.

Prior to my career change and becoming a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I was on the senior management team at British Airways. My role as a Business Relationship Manager utilised my people and communication skills building relationships across disparate teams (such as ‘IT techies’ and ‘hairy ar**ed engineers’).

As well as having a general practice I also specialise in fertility, selling products as well as seeing clients and have a particular interest in sports performance and working with teenagers.

With my practice being the family’s only source of income I very much treat it as a business and looking back I can see how supervision has played a key role in my professional and practice development.

As well as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I am a husband, father, barefoot runner, Spurs fan and mac evangelist.

Feel free to contact me to discuss anything about supervision. With my supervisees being all over the UK I provide group and individual supervision by Skype or telephone as well as face-to-face for those in Cornwall. See my contact details below.

Stuart Norman

The Quest Institute has been a big part of my life since I booked on for Q16 in 2005 and relished every moment of the course.

I achieved changes I thought were never possible and after graduating I continued to stay close to Quest to be able to support and pass on my learning’s and discoveries. I went on to attend the Master Practitioner in 2006 and then come back as an assistant on Q20,Q26 and Q28 also assisting on 2007and 2010 Master Practitioner courses.

I have my own Cognitive Hypnotherapy and mind coaching practice in Surrey and enjoy every moment of it. I consider the strengths I have of being approachable and able to listen as well friendly and having a relaxed attitude, key to my success as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist. It’s so rewarding when I see my clients making huge changes in their lives. I love challenges in my own life and sometimes even go seeking them which is why I’ve enjoyed mountain climbing, caving, adventure travel, being a school governor, and of course the biggest challenge of all, having a young daughter.

Since being involved with Quest I’ve learnt that people can achieve whatever they want to in their lives just by taking action to make it happen.

I’m passionate about supporting and guiding people to where they want to be, which is why I became a Supervisor. I really enjoy sessions with my supervisee’s and it’s a chance for me to give back some of what I’ve learned and experienced during my development.
