Review of Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy Course
Simply put this is a great course, incredible material that covers so effectively so many areas regarding, hypnotherapy, therapy and self-improvement.
After 3 years training as a counsellor I wanted to expand my abilities not only as a therapist but also for my own self-improvement. I almost gave up after searching the Internet and seeing pictures of graduates of weekend or weeklong courses on hypnosis outside hotels in Milton Keynes.
I wanted a course that not only informed me but also inspired me to want to do more…….it felt like it was never going to happen…..then a friend mentioned Quest and Cognitive Hypnotherapy…..so I did a search…
Well I clicked on the link and somehow landed on the page with a picture of Barney…..(Trevor and Bex's very cute dog), I was a bit confused and initially wondered if I come across Hypnotherapy for Dogs!!!
I found the home page and was hooked……
Over 10 months it has fulfilled all my expectations of inspiring me, informing me and helping me to grow not only professionally but personally as well….
I could go over all the incredible material we have covered and how I found it so amazing but that would not be a review but a dissertation. However not only did I learn about Cognitive Hypnotherapy with the natural infusion of NLP but also the wider world of Neuro Sciences, Psychology and Energy Therapy.
Trevor is a great teacher, presenter, mentor and a friend because that's how he makes all feel.
The measure of a great teacher is that the learning feels effortless, inspiring and creative, and that's how it feels working and learning from Trevor.
However there is a great team with Trevor with such dedication that I am often humbled by it, they are Bex, Jan, Julie and assistants……
Lastly the assistants……what better a measure of a course then its assistants.
These guys offer their time freely over the 10 months to help the students. Who are these guys? Well they are fellow Questies who have finished and want to give back some of what they have been given….
Any course that leaves you wanting to give back to other students in such committed way is a wonderful recommendation.
The Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy course is without doubt one of my best decisions it has opened many more doors of possibilities and ways of working. It goes beyond instructing in how to be a hypnotherapist but how to become a unique Cognitive Hypnotherapist that is a refection of who you are as an individual. Oh and a phew drinks and plenty of laughs…..
Thanks guys I give you 5 stars, an Oscar and a Flapjack (for Barney…Grrrr)!!!!

This is a quite incredible course. Trevor and Bex bring warmth, humour, passion and authenticity to the course. Trevor's delivery ensures that every session is brimming with well researched academic theories and new ideas whilst providing opportunities for all to contribute. More than that it allows you to broaden your horizons, meet some wonderful people and truly open your eyes to life and all it has to offer. An outstanding experience.
Thank you
Stuart Smith:)

One of the best steps I have taken Diploma in Cognitive HypnotherapyBy seetahaider on 22/02/2010
If I could in any way sum up what this course has done for me and how it has benefitted others, I would....but there are no words that I can use that would come close to describing the way it has helped me and those around me.
The course is run by Trevor - one of the best trainers I have come across. Not only does he engage you in every step of the training but your involvement in the course it right from the minute you meet and greet at Module 1. Trevor makes you feel so comfortable in the questions you may raise and provides great room for dialogue, makes you laugh (esp. me) endlessly) and there's is not a weekend I have missed or would have dreamt of missing...I had so much fun. I have learnt so much and I just can't wait to share that learning with the world. Every step I take and every word (most words) I say, I have learnt the impact they may have and so have used the knoweldge I have gained to work more effectively at home and outside.
The HPD seemed really difficult, and that was because I kept dreading the htought of it...but once I got started, there was no stopping me and it was done...The support quest gives is amazing and without a doubt, you can say it is the support you would expect a family to give.....that is perhaps how i would sum up the feeling I get from the institute and particularly from Trevor. He and Bex both have provided a fantastic platform to build a career from, and most importantly, provided a great opportunity for a personal journey for all of us.
I look forward to being part of Quest...

I thoroughly recommend Quest to all established psychotherapists or counsellors (of any modality) who are looking to enhance their therapeutic practice by adding hypnotherapy to their skills set. I have found that I have been able to integrate Cognitive Hypnotherapy seamlessly into my private practice (and what's more, my clients love it!). Obviously, Cognitive Hypnotherapy can also be offered as a modality of therapy in its own right - and I am increasingly doing this with clients who express a preference for short-term solution-focused work (this is, let's face it, what most prospective clients yearn for, and as a direct result, my client base is expanding and I have never been busier!). When I had been thinking about further training before joining Quest, I had been very tempted, like many psychotherapists, to jump on the CBT bandwagon. Looking back, I consider myself so fortunate that a colleague pointed me in the direction of Quest instead. The course's core philosophy chimes with everything I believe about therapy - namely that we work with our clients' models of the world and not our own.

Make the right choice and you can't fail. Diploma in Cognitive HypnotherapyBy marccraig on 21/01/2010
If you are considering a career in hypnotherapy then I would definitely endorse training with The Quest Institute. The teaching is of a very high standard covering a huge amount of information regarding technique and theory. It gives you the tools and confidence (and all the relevant qualifications) to be able to offer a dynamic therapy package that is at the cutting edge of hypnotherapy. Apart from meeting like-minded people at the beautiful location of Regents College you really feel you are part of something exciting that has so many positive applications beyond the course. On completion of the course you are constantly supported through peer support and on-going training which makes the transition from student to practitioner a breeze. Making the decision to apply with The Quest Institute will probably be one of the most life transforming decisions you can make. :):):):)

I spent a lot of time looking at different courses wondering whether to go on a course run by Richard Bandler or Paul McKenna because they are well known and because I had read some of their books. But I found the Quest website and liked the feel of it and kept coming back to look. Then I read the reviews of people who had been on the course and they seemed enthusiastic and genuine.
I met Trevor and Bex and found them both to be genuine, very likeable and very knowledgeable. I have now finished the course and am so grateful that I chose them and Quest. The teaching method is superb, I was quite well read in hypnotherapy and positive psychology before I started the course but this filled all the gaps and has given me the practical hands on techniques that I had only really read about.
The learning materials that you take away each module are well written and packed with information. Plus I have met some lovely amazing people both on the course and through the Quest website.
The course work was a challenge, there is a lot to learn and there is quite a bit of work to do for your qualification but I learnt it all while being thoroughly interested and amazed and having a great laugh (plus a few good nights down the pub!). The encouragement and support to do well, learn and succeed over the past ten months has also restored my basic faith in human kind. There are some good people out there and a lot of them are running or are on the Quest Course.
The Regent's Park College is also lovely environment to do the course in. I have only good things say about this course and would recommend it to anyone interested. You will love it.

This course is unique. If you are planning to start your own business or simply interested in the many and varied areas this course covers then you could not do better. Having attended many training courses during my career in sales and marketing I can honestly say that I have never met a better trainer than Trevor - his enthusiam and knowledge make every lecture fascinating. I looked forward to every module.
I am now setting up my new career as a Cognitive hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner and have the full support of The Quest Institute behind me.
If you have the opportunity to do this course then I envy you - I would love to do it again.

The training that I have received over the last ten months has been excellent. The delivery and content was superb. The amount I have learnt in such a short space of time has given me so much opportunity and flexibility that will be invaluable in practice.
Before joining Quest I trained with a 'traditional' hypnotherapist institute and was left disappointed with both the content and support. Quest not only provides an amazing network of support and is consummately professional but the content is up to date with the latest discoveries of how the mind works ensuring that the training always remains current.
I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone interested in either self development or a career in Cognitive Hypnotherapy as I believe the training and delivery to be second to none.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy Diploma Q25 Diploma in Cognitive HypnotherapyBy anthonyhilling on 15/10/2009
I just wanted to write a quick note to say how much I have enjoyed your Cognitive Hypnotherapy course. After looking at number of different courses and training companies initially, I am so glad that I made the decision to train with Quest. Your teaching style creates a fun, relaxed and friendly atmosphere that with the help and support that you offer during and after the course has allowed me to learn at an amazing rate. Never before have I had the benefit of being able to learn so much so quickly and so thoroughly. The course content is loaded with up to date, real world techniques that have been researched and demonstrated to create and reinforce change in anyone. This has enabled huge growth in myself and given me the ability to do the same for others. I feel that Quest sets standards that that other training organisations cannot follow and I am very proud to be associated with it.
Trevor, Bex and Jan you make a great team that make a great difference.
Thank you so much.
Tony Hilling.

My experience - Foundational Diploma - July09 (Q26) Diploma in Cognitive HypnotherapyBy danielmartinez on 21/08/2009
If you are looking for a course that teaches you to read a specific script for a given issue or condition, this course is not for you.
I didn't write a review right after the course finished because I wanted to know what I was going to write. But, I decided it didn't matter how long I waited, words would never be enough to describe the experience.
I will do my best to brain-dump some critical elements that I hope will give you an idea of what this course was about for me and of my experience.
When I was being interviewed for the course by Trevor (Bex was sick that day), we talked about how Cognitive Hypnotherapy (CH) isn't psychotherapy and it isn't hypnotherapy but something in between. My humble description of CH is that it takes influences from the major psychological theories and combines them or integrates them with modern hypnotherapy. That fascinated me because my background is strongly influenced by psychotherapy (specifically Psychosynthesis) and I was keen to learn hypnotherapy.
The things that drew me to the course were subtle and broad. The personalised approach taken by Trevor and Bex to hand-select the newest members to their organisation impressed me. I was assured that the ongoing and peer support was more than just marketing speak, that it was a reality and as the community grew, it required more and more time to support it. Having spoken to other people who trained in other well respected schools, I knew that what Trevor and Bex offered was extraordinary. The kindness and giving nature of everyone I have met through Quest continues to astonish me - and it became clear how special it was from the first month in the course when I was given access to the Forum where we post questions, share stories, and inspiration with other Quest members.
About the course itself, what can I say? Every month's training weekend was filled with excitement, emotions, changes, insights, questions, learnings, and development. The only thing I didn't like about the course is that it was too short and/or not often enough. It was so great that I would have loved for it to be every two weeks and for it to last at least twice as long. Trevor is engaging, entertaining, patient, giving, and a great teacher/presenter.
What you'll learn in the course is how to approach a wide variety of situations that extend well beyond the ideas of what hypnosis is typically used for. In fact, you will probably be surprised as I was about what hypnotherapy truly is, or more accurately, how versatile Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be. It is a powerful model of therapy and it's use needs to be respected with great responsibility and integrity; something that I have seen represented by every Quest graduate that I have met so far.
The reality is that it is a great course and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about hypnotherapy or is involved in mental health and wants to expand their skill set to help people even more than before.
I would be more than happy to speak or email with anyone that is interested. You can send me a message by left-clicking on my name (I think).
If you are considering this course, I cannot recommend it enough but like everything else, it's not for everyone. Only you will know if it's right for you or not. I wish you all the best regardless of your decision. But if you decide to join, I hope your experience is as great for you as it has been, and continues to be, for me.
Daniel
